Christmas tastes #1 Sainsbury's

The festive season is upon us! From supermarkets to sandwich shops - everyone is releasing their take on a Christmas sandwich.

I will be tasting said sandwiches and reviewing them as I go...

Sandwich #1 Sainsburys
"Turkey with pigs under blankets" - £2.30

Bread - Sainsburys never disappoints when it comes to their super soft malted bread. A bread you probably know from their all day breakfast or cheese and ham varieties.

Filling - Relatively disappointing first bite, too reminiscent of their all day breakfast sandwich. Nothing wrong with the Sainsburys ADB but not exactly what I'd hoped for a Christmassy snack. The sandwich bears host to classic turkey which isn't too dry so a plus there, but very bland "pig" and it's aforementioned "blanket". The real reason this sandwich falls over though is the cranberry sauce, although a decent portion I may aswell have been eating chicken sausage and bacon with some strawberry jam. Too sweet and not flavoursome enough!

All that being said - I didn't hate it! The overall texture was satisfying

and a few of the bites stood out when you catch the right ratios of the different fillings.

6/10
